Mark Levin tells Glenn Beck "stop acting like a clown" and asks "what is your point?"

I've spoken previously about Mark Levin's disagreements with the rising Glenn Beck. Levin is once again voicing his opinion of Beck and again he pulls his punches somewhat as Beck is a popular figure amongst many on the right.

Mark Levin's monologue takes a few indirect shots at Beck but his point can be distilled in this line of questioning
Glenn Beck is no Ronald Reagan (but Rand Paul is a lot like his father)
MARK LEVIN: If we are to attack with a broad brush, in generalised terms an entire political party that is itself is in the midst of transformation. What is the point?

If you're on the one hand going to encourage people to rise up, speak out, to get involved and in the next breath discourage them from getting involved in politics and not endorsing Conservatives over liberal establishment Republicans. What is your point

To flirt for month after month with third parties and third party ideology and then when called on to say you've never done it when the record is overwhelming. What is your point?

and let me say this to promote Ron Paul over and over and over again. One of the most irresponsible politicians, who blames America for her enemies and at least when it comes to foreign policy... you're promoting a radical agenda that has nothing to do with conservatism

Mark Levin goes on to speak to Politico cautioning Beck
Mark Levin to Glenn Beck: 'Stop acting like a clown'
“The mainstream media is not your friend. It will promote you for the purpose of destroying you,” he said, seemingly alluding to the somewhat favorable coverage of Beck’s speech. “Be careful playing footsie with the mainstream media.”

“Decide what you are,” Levin added, “A circus clown, self-identified, or a thoughtful and wise person. It’s hard to be both.”

HotAir and Michelle Malkin host their own Conservative version of 'The View'

In big news for those interested on the business dealings of online media, Conservative blog HotAir has been acquired by Salem Communications strengthening their ownership of online conservative content.
Exclusive: Hot Air acquired By Salem Communications
... Mediaite has learned that leading center-right web site Hot Air has been acquired by Salem Communications for an undisclosed sum. Sources close to the deal claim that Michelle Malkin, the conservative pundit and sole owner of Hot Air, has been in talks with Salem for some time, but the announcement was timed to coincide with the Conservative Political Action Conference, which opens tomorrow in Washington D.C.

Hot Air is one of the biggest, most influential conservative sites on the Web and was launched on April 24, 2006, with Michelle Malkin as founder/CEO (though she remains editorially focused on her own blog MichelleMalkin.com and her own writing and television appearances.) Hot Air is managed on a day-to-day basis by editors Ed Morrissey and the mysterious AllahPundit, who are reported to be part of the deal in the sale of to Salem, and absolutely essential to the core value of Hot Air...
Michelle Malkin has written about the acquisition with one of the positive byproducts of the sale being the revisiting of noteworthy moments in HotAir's history. In particular this attempt by Malkin to craft her own conservative version of 'The View' featuring conservative women Mary Katharine Ham and Kirsten Powers both regular Fox News contributors. As well as La Shawn Barber, conservative blogger behind 'La Shawn Barber's Corner'.

The make up the show is similar to the View's, Michelle Malkin assuming the Barbara walters role and Kirsten Powers as the token liberal being the analog for Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

Republican Presidential contender Mitt Romney wrestles with rapper on a plane

Rapper in plane scuffle with Mitt Romney
A US rap star claims he was the passenger involved in a scuffle with former presidential candidate Mitt Romney aboard an Air Canada flight — but insists the Republican was first to get aggressive.

Rapper Skyler Gordy, who goes by the moniker Sky Blu for Grammy-nominated act LMFAO, has posted a protest video online saying that Romney applied a "Vulcan" grip to his arm while the plane was preparing to take off from Vancouver en route to Los Angeles on Monday.

VIDEO: Fox News - Romney vs. The Rapper

Via MTV
LMFAO's Sky Blu Was Other Man In Mitt Romney's Plane Fight
"I'm trying to just adjust myself so I can go to sleep," Blu said. "I just hear this guy, he's, 'Sir, sir, put your seat up!' I thought it was a flight attendant at first ... and he says again, 'Sir, put your seat up!' A little louder and more angry towards me." ...

In the video, air marshals are seen escorting Blu off the plane. He said they diffused the situation and though the police detained him for a minute, he was not arrested but given a ticket for the next flight out.

"I have no hard feelings toward him," Blu said. "I'm sure he's a good dude."

And while Blu, an avowed Democrat, said he would not vote for Romney, he admitted he might get a drink with the Mormon politician ... if he drinks.

Mark Levin interviews UFC middleweight contender Chael Sonnen

Conservative talker Mark Levin recently interviewed Chael Sonnen, UFC middleweight contender and conservative Republican running to represent Oregon’s House District 37. They talk about Chael's recent fight and victory over Nate Marquardt and his run for office. Mark has expressed his admiration for MMA fighters, having mentioned the WEC (World Extreme Cagefighting) in a previous broadcast.

Interestingly friends of show at LiveAudioWrestling.com gushed over Chael's promo abilities and noted his previous history with pro-wrestling having tried out with WCW. I've often spoken about the intersection between wrestling charisma and politics. Like wrestlers Jerry Lawler and Jesse Ventura before him, Sonnen's natural ability on the microphone will be an asset in his campaign.

Listen to the audio at MarkLevinFan.com - UFC middleweight contender Chael Sonnen running for Oregon state house

Watch Chael being interviewed on Fox and Friends and enjoy the clumsy fight references. Followed by video of Chael on 'UFC Countdown' promoting his fight with Nate and explaining his run for office:

CHAEL SONNEN: The UFC has opened some huge doors and I see some athletes really try to capitalise on that. Maybe they start a clothing line. Some of them have tried to become actors but they have used the prestige the UFC has granted them to better themselves.

I'm in the same spot in terms of I was given a certain amount of prestige from the opportunities afforded to me. But I wanna use that as opposed to doing stuff directly for myself but to help others...

Jon Stewart examines the blogospheres' tendency to pit any disagreement between political personalities into feuds by using hyperbole. Its worth noting this is the stock and trade of this blog - dedicated to the analogy that American Politics and Punditry is not unlike Professional wrestling.
February 4, 2010: The Blogs Must Be Crazy
JON STEWART: Seeing how just in these past few weeks I have disemboweled. I have mauled. I have hammered. Ripped. I have slammed and I Bitchslapped? Really?...

You know if you just follow this show on the blogs, you would think I was just running around town cutting people open from scrote to sternum wearing their skin as a trophy which I only did once with Jimmy Carter

Its almost as if these headlines are freakishly out of proportion to the content contained within them designed to take relatively benign interactions and cast them as murderous feuds...
I've compiled a list of the blog posts Stewart highlighted on the above clip for their hyperbolic descriptions of his interactions with other Political personalities:
1) Jon Stewart Disembowels Mike Huckabee On Gay Marriage
- State of the Day
2) Maddow, Stewart, Colbert maul Lieberman
- Unpolitical
3) Stewart Hammers Fox News For Cutting Off Obama's GOP Q&A
- The Huffington Post
4)Stewart destroys Hannity for a second night this week
- Raw Story
5)Stewart Rips Maddow for Using Haitian Disaster to Bash Bush, Maddow Foolishly Strikes Back

Jon Stewart appears on the O'Reilly Factor and takes on Fox News (Video & partial transcript)

VIDEO: Bill O'Reilly VS Jon Stewart (Wednesday February 4, 2010)

JON STEWART: You have in some ways become the voice of sanity here which is like being the thinnest kid at Fat camp. So lets just get that straight.

This is what Fox has done through their cyclonic, perpetual emotion machine that is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week - they've taken reasonable concerns about this President and this economy and have turned it into a full fledged panic attack about the next coming of Chairman Mao. Explain to me why that’s the narrative of your network?

BILL O'REILLY: Its the narrative of a couple of guys. A Republican, Sean Hannity. And a guy Glenn Beck who's basically "everyman"... it means he doesn't shill for any party. He just spouts. He spouts what he believes. if you think Beck shills for the Republican Party you're out of your mind.

President Obama takes on GOP at Baltimore retreat

VIDEO: President Obama Full Q&A
Obama At House Republican Retreat In Baltimore: FULL VIDEO, TEXT
That's why I say if we're going to frame these debates in ways that allow us to solve them, then we can't start off by figuring out, A, who's to blame; B, how can we make the American people afraid of the other side. And unfortunately, that's how our politics works right now. And that's how a lot of our discussion works. That's how we start off
...
It's all tactics, and it's not solving problems.
President Obama traveled to a House Republican retreat in Baltimore to face tough question from a room filled with Republicans. President Obama engaged with his conservative counterparts for an hour and a half in what was described as "amazing theater" and "compelling political television".

The exercise was so successful that one of Obama's most strident critics, Michelle Malkin commended Obama with qualifications of course.
Transparency and openness, finally: The GOP & Obama Q&A show
It’s our own version of Britain’s Prime Minister’s questions and it’s been happening for nearly an hour live.

Hurry and tune in now on C-SPAN online if you aren’t near a TV.
Yes, Obama has shown some of his finger-wagging tendencies...

But the session has been most compelling — the most transparency and openness we’ve seen since the start of his term...

In response to readers: Yes, we got to see how thin-skinned and peevish he is in a sustained engagement/non-engagement with Republicans.
That’s a good thing, isn’t it?
Best takeaway, lecture-y line from Obama: “We’ve got to be careful about what we say about each other.”

Says the man whose operatives have smeared conservatives and Tea Party activists as racists, terrorists, and Neanderthals non-stop over the last year...
Judging by the title in this Huffington Post round-up one might conjure up this wrestling image
Obama Goes To GOP Lions' Den -- And Mauls The Lions
"Most people thinking about this would have thought 'ooh Obama is going into the lion's den," said Dee Dee Myers, Clinton's former press secretary. "But there was a great opportunity to jujitsu that. On one level it looked brave but on another he was the substitute teacher there, lecturing the audience.

"A lot of us have been waiting for that moment, a little more fight, a little more politics" she added. "He is in a political business and he has to pay attention to not just the substance but the politics."
